Cheap Entertainment

Nothing like a fresh Costco supply of paper towels to keep the kids busy!

Cousin Katie, Claire and Susie

Fuzzy Wuzzy

Ohh, Claire Bear.... I have to post a few recent pictures of Claire's hair because it's just too darn funny not to.

A year and a half ago Claire began life as a pretty bald little baby and then started growing a few curly wisps here and there up until her first birthday. I thought for a while that she would follow in Susie's footsteps and end up with a mop of curls, but somewhere around year one her hair started falling out. Like a little old man. It was terrible and a little alarming, but thankfully it has since started growing back in. Not so thankfully, however, it has grown in with a vengeance, stick straight and unwilling to lay down. Much like a Chia Pet, or a porcupine, or a dandelion, or even a Q-Tip (all names she's been called), Claire has funny, pokey hair.

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a Claire, Fuzzy Wuzzy had pokey hair!

4th of July

The 4th of July was spent in Santa Cruz with Uncle Scooter, Auntie Tristen, cousin Katie, and of course Nana (we missed you, Uncle Dave!). This was the first year we participated in the neighborhood parade that started at the beach house and traveled up the coastline for less than a mile. Although the little girls loved it, I think Nana was the real reason we participated... any excuse to decorate or wear a costume!

Apparently the excitement of the big parade was simply too much

The holiday wouldn't have been complete without a trip to the sand

Claire loving that, at least for the moment, her big sister can't poke/push/chase/drag/etc.

Never a dull moment at the beach house!

Nana always has the best toys...

Random Events With Big Daddy Doug

Doug and his two brothers, Ryan and Dave- as of this June, officially all Cal Poly graduates!

Doug on Father's Day with his two girls...

...and with his number one girl!

Below is a short video clip of Susie cracking up at her comedian of a dad during a random evening at the dinner table. Who knew the old high five "up high, down low, on the side, too slow!" trick could be so funny!

Summer Swimmin'

Nana kicked off swimsuit season for Susie and Claire a few months back by sending the girls these super cute ballerina suits in the mail. The girls were obviously very excited and had to try out their ballerina moves with a little jumping on the bed!

Susie smiling for the camera during one of her swim lessons taught by her preschool teacher Mrs. Lobb (Mrs. Lobb's daughter is taking the photo). The best part about these photos is that Susie isn't just posing for the camera; she loves her swim lessons and is all smiles from start to finish!

It's good to be three!
