Meanwhile, Nana entertained the girls while the baptism was going on by taking Susie and Claire to the Stanislaus County Fair. A brave adventure for sure to take a one and three year old to the fair during nap time, but of course Nana is a seasoned pro, plus she had the added help of Mama "Fair Queen" Jane. The day was a huge success, complete with corn dogs, milkshakes, cotton candy, a blow-up plastic unicorn and monkey, matching fair quality Care Bear dolls, and pink cowgirl hats that light up. Yeeee Ha!
For the Phillips girls, the fair is The Happiest Place on Earth where Nana and Mama Jane rule!
The picture below is by far my favorite- it reminds me of a scene from the movie Dumb and Dumber (a Berry family favorite) where Jim Carrey comes out of the convenience store with an over-sized cowboy hat on, arms overloaded with random purchases. A classic!
This last photo is Susie in her car seat Sunday night ready to head home back to Visalia. Normally I like to fix the red eye in my pictures, but I purposely left it this time because it just seemed appropriate...!!
